The Sacred Power of Rest

In the sacred complexity of life, those on a journey of spiritual awakening quest for meaning, connection, and purpose. It’s been said that we seek, each in our own way, to become “One with the One.” (Exactly what that means for each of us is an evolving realization!) One crucial aspect of this journey that is often overlooked is the importance of rest.

Rest is not just the absence of activity; it's a deep, rejuvenating stillness. Just as nature has its rhythms—day and night, ebb and flow, seasons changing—our souls too need moments of retreat and introspection. Rest is a sacred pause, a time to detach from the constant rush, to listen to the “still, small voice” (1 Kings 19:11) within, and to reconnect with our innermost selves.

Whether through meditation, spending time in nature, or simply being present in a quiet moment, rest allows us to recharge, re-evaluate, and revitalize our spirits. It grounds us, making our journey more authentic and attuned.

In a world of endless quests and constant movement, let's remember the transformative power of stillness. Embracing rest is not just essential for our well-being; it's a divine invitation to connect deeply with the universe and ourselves.

“He said to them, ‘Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.’ For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.” Mark 6:31

If you want to find others who live this way every day, I invite you to join us Sunday mornings at 11:00 am for a free celebration of the power of Spirit in our lives through meditation, music and message.
